Growing up, "dragon" conjured up two completely different images in my head: a fire breathing dragon with humongous wings and an elegant dragon gliding around rumbling rain clouds. The two dragons in a way reflected my identity as an Asian American, living in cultural duality with two conflicting identities in constant battle within me to maintain some sort of balance. I was also inspired by playing cards and the way the art often portrays artistic chaos in perfect symmetry, just like how life can be so chaotic within certain frameworks.
