Motion of the Ocean

A design inspired by the gothic epic that gave us immortal love, operatic costumes, and… Keanu Reeves’ British accent. Motion of the Ocean riffs on the infamous scene where Jonathan Harker (Reeves) finds himself entangled in silk and seduction with Dracula’s brides, most memorably Monica Bellucci. It’s a moment equal parts horror, desire, and “wait, what accent is that again?”

This bootleg-style piece reimagines Coppola’s Dracula through the lens of raw, underground remix culture. The dripping red typography bleeds louder than the Count himself. The black-and-white still feels like it was snatched from a half-worn VHS tape passed around in the ’90s. The title itself twists Dracula’s melodramatic line—“I have crossed oceans of time to find you”—into a sly wink. Yes, eternal love, but also let’s not pretend the scene wasn’t basically a tidal wave of gothic lust.

Like Coppola’s decision to skip CGI for in-camera tricks, Motion of the Ocean leans into imperfection. It’s raw, it’s theatrical, and it feels a little illicit—exactly what a bootleg should. Think of it as the cinematic fever dream made wearable. It’s hyper-romantic and hyper-horny, draped in velvet shadows and sarcasm.

Perfect for horror enthusiasts, cinephiles, and anyone who treasures the sublime absurdity of over-the-top cinema, this design is both a love letter and a smirk. A nod to the high camp of Ishioka’s costumes, the dripping sensuality of the brides’ scene, and the eternal truth that sometimes the best way to honor art is to bootleg it.
