Metanoia is a Greek word for repentance. For me, this piece is about a demon who is seeking repentance from God. The three swords are a blessing from the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit as they pierce the demons skinless body. The eyes on the hilt of the blades are a witness to the demon proving that they are worthy of eternal life as she waits in the flames of hell.

If you are not into any of this religious symbolism, perhaps you will enjoy the details of the illustration or the semi-nude figure surrounded by fire. I think we can all agree that people like semi-nudes at the very least.
