Bernadette, one of four cats that make my home magic, is an utterly sweet, delicate, petite, smoke color pointed, mildly incontinent, cross eyed, blue eyed Manx kitty about 7 years old. I just finished her portrait, acrylic on board from which I made this iteration in Procreate. Her face is surrounded by the prey animals that she hunts, kills and consumes. The critters are portrayed in a simplified line-style reminiscent of images on delft pottery, or porcelain. Bernadette is delicate but strong, dainty and refined, like fine China. There is a niche tattoo style that echoes the blue glaze on porcelain pottery. I like to think Bernadette would appreciate her kills as tattoos. When her kittens were small, she would bring live but wounded snakes into the house to give her kits the taste of fresh blood. I know I am anthropomorphizing, but she really is a bad-ass. I felt this portrait perfectly fit the theme of Heaven or Hell.

Heaven for Bernadette, ALL the critters to stalk and chase and catch and kill and EAT, is Hell for the critters of the world!
