Hello, thank you for taking a look at my page :)
I'm excited to be participating in the Heaven or Hell T shirt design event.

This T shirt design is based off of Dante's Inferno, focusing on the castle in a meadow in limbo where the poet Virgil is from. The design features the layers of Inferno (Hell) below, as well as the spheres of Paradiso (Heaven) above. The center figure is Dante Aligheiri on the left, who is to be guided by Virgil towards his right through the Inferno. In the upper right corner is Beatrice, represented as an angel atop the Purgatory tower, who will later be Dante's guide through Paradiso.

The shirt may not be entirely accurate to the Inferno/Purgatorio/Paradiso poems. Artistic liberties and incomplete knowledge of the works are present. For instance, there are Asphodel flowers (found in the Elysian fields) in the meadow, as a nod to the ancient Greek views of the afterlife. The meadow described as not punishment, but leaving a sense of lacking, is significantly glorified in my depiction.
